Fixed Costs

Fixed costs are costs of a company that do not change (remain constant) with the level of production or sales. These costs are paid regardless of whether the company produces zero or maximum output.

Examples of fixed costs include rent, administrative staff salaries, interest on loans, and depreciation. Total fixed costs are a key element in calculating the break-even point and cost-based pricing, as they must be covered by the revenue generated from sales.
