An off-price retailer is a retailer that sells goods at prices below regular retail prices by purchasing goods below market value. It is either independently owned and operated or is a subsidiary of a larger retail corporation.
These retailers purchase factory surplus, seasonal leftovers, or off-the-shelf goods from manufacturers at below wholesale prices, allowing them to offer customers significant discounts. Unlike discounters who buy at regular price, off-price retailers have an unpredictable and changing assortment of goods.
