Marketing Intelligence

Marketing Intelligence is the systematic collection and analysis of publicly available information about consumers, competitors, and phenomena in the marketing environment. The goal is to improve strategic decision-making and identify opportunities and threats.

Sources of marketing intelligence include monitoring competitive products and advertising, researching public data, blogs, social media, and conversations with company personnel (salespeople, distributors). Unlike marketing research, intelligence is a daily, ongoing process.
