Promotional Pricing

Promotional pricing is a pricing strategy that involves temporarily pricing products below their official price, and sometimes even below their cost, in order to increase short-term sales.

Forms of promotional pricing include discounts, special events, lost-leader pricing (a very low price for an item to attract traffic), or seasonal price discounts. Overuse can damage a brand’s image and create an expectation among customers of low prices.
