Whether you create a “team” page on your website depends largely on the industry you work in. Such pages are suitable for modern technology companies, small family businesses, but also, of course, any institution that relies more on personal relationships than on citizen-institution relationships.
What does this mean?
It means that banks, along with other financial institutions, usually rely on you to trust the institution, not an individual member of it. On the other hand, law firms and clinics rely on you to trust the individual, because with the individual you will confide your problems. Modern technology companies realize that they are institutions that people need to trust, but they also realize the attraction of people knowing who they will actually be working with. Typically, the more open a company is and the more it demonstrates its “internal” relationships on its blog or on social networks, the more people trust it. Of course, the positive interactions between your employees are demonstrated outside – in the kitchen, during brainstorming, team building, etc.
To make your team page look better and more complete, it should have the following features:
Brand
Remember that every page, every text, every gesture from your business is a form of communication. That is, it conveys a message. Therefore, this page of your site, just like the others, should use the right tone, right colors and convey the right message.
Your employees
Naturally, the team page should introduce your potential and current clients to your team. If you have too many people working for you, you could introduce them as departments with their leaders. Otherwise, if you have fifty to a hundred people, you could introduce each one individually. Some people are not photogenic and/or do not feel comfortable in front of the camera and will not want to be photographed. Respect their wishes and think of a way to fill the empty space. This can be done with your company logo or an avatar that you have created specifically for the occasion.
Style
If you don’t use photos anywhere on your site, but rely on illustrations, then it would be a good idea to continue in the same style on this page as well. Therefore, you should task your designers with the difficult task of creating an illustration of each of your employees, or in certain cases, you could rely on software that will turn your employees’ photos into illustrations. Of course, these software won’t work miracles and you won’t get completely professional illustrations, but you will still have some option by which all your employees are depicted in an illustration style.
Divide the page by departments (optional)
Depending on the size of your team, you could divide it by departments. This will allow site users to scan the information more easily and find the department that actually interests them.
Link to the “careers” page
It is completely expected that on the page where you present your team, you would write something along the lines of “join us” or “become part of us”, which text, through a button or a simple link, would take your site visitors to the careers page.
