Territorial Sales Force Structure

A territorial sales force structure is a sales force organization in which each salesperson is responsible for an exclusive geographic area (territory) where he sells the company’s entire line.

This is the simplest structure that clearly defines the responsibilities of each salesperson. The advantage is that it reduces travel costs and encourages the salesperson to build local relationships within his territory. This structure is suitable for companies with a single product line and a broad customer base.
