The Value Chain is a series of internal departments that perform value-creating activities to design, manufacture, market, deliver, and support a company’s products. It describes how a company creates value for its customers.
A company’s success depends not only on how well each department does its job, but also on how well the activities of different departments (e.g., marketing and production) are coordinated. A weak link in this internal chain can reduce the overall value to the customer.
