Controlled Media

Mass Communication

Controlled media is a type of communication channel where the message, timing, placement, and content are fully managed by the one who sends the message.

Therefore, the communicator has complete control over how the message is crafted and delivered to the target audience.

Such controlled media could be newsletters, brochures, leaflets, a website, a blog, etc.

Controlled media is characterised by the fact that the organization both creates and distributes the content, with no third-party editing, filtering, or interpretation. Therefore, the message can be in the highest level of consistency and branding.
