A byline is the line in a news article, a blog post, or another written content that names the author. It is usually positioned above an article, but could be located after the content.
Except for the author’s name, a byline could include the date of publication, the author’s title (if applicable), and any affiliation they might have.
The byline gives credit to the author, gives credibility and transparency of the content, and helps the reader identify the sources and follow authors they trust.
